Engineering With Purpose & Fundamentals
I'm Javier Carrion, often known as Javi. I'm a bilingual software engineer who builds practical software solutions, solves complex technical problems, and helps engineering communities grow.
Background & Journey
My journey in technology spans more than 25 years, starting in computer systems, technical customer support, and software quality assurance before transitioning into full-time software engineering over six years ago.
This non-traditional foundation gives me a distinctive engineering perspective: I don't just write code to make a feature work today; I write code with a deep appreciation for edge cases, regression prevention, maintainability, and end-user empathy.
Core Technical Expertise
My day-to-day engineering focuses on scalable frontend architectures and full-stack integration:
- Frontend Engineering: Angular, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, Vue, HTML5, semantic CSS/Sass, responsive design, and component design systems.
- Modern Reactivity: Early adopter and advocate of fine-grained reactive primitives (Signals) and zone-less architectures.
- Backend & Data: Node.js, Express.js, RESTful API design and maintenance, and MySQL schema migrations. I also have experience with PostgreSQL.
- Quality & Delivery: Comprehensive unit testing, regression testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Agile/Scrum methodologies (Certified Professional Scrum Master I).
Community & Knowledge Sharing
I firmly believe that explaining concepts to others is the greatest way to master them. As an organizer for Google Developer Groups (GDG) Central Florida and GDG Ocala, and co-organizer of DevFest Florida, I regularly present technical sessions on Angular Signals, modern frontend practices, and developer tooling.
I also actively mentor junior engineers on clean code, Git practices, software architecture, and practical problem-solving.
